"Circle to Search" receives a new cropping and sharing feature for Android users.

Circle to Search, a visual search feature introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, has received an update. Recently, a new cropping and sharing function for this tool was announced, which is reportedly being rolled out to users. This feature will be available on all compatible Android devices, allowing users to quickly capture and share screenshots.

According to 9to5Google, the new feature was spotted on an unnamed Android device, where screenshots taken this way are only saved if shared with others. Users can activate the search circle by long-pressing the home button on their Android devices. Once activated, they can use the lasso tool to select the entire screen or part of it.

The search circle expands compatibility. Once a selection is made, the screenshot can be shared directly via third-party messaging apps, Bluetooth, and other similar applications. Users also have the option to upload the screenshot to Google Photos or save it in Google Keep using the share sheet.

However, smaller images may have lower resolution, making them less effective for saving directly on the device.

Google announced this feature earlier this month in a blog post related to Gemini, which also introduced a new Gemini feature called "Ask about this screen." When opening Gemini on another app, this option appears at the top of the Gemini window, allowing users to ask AI queries about the content on the screen. A similar feature called "Ask about this video" lets users inquire about YouTube videos.

The search circle is now available on more devices. In addition to being available on newer devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has also rolled out the Circle to Search service for other models. The Galaxy S21 FE supports this feature, which was initially reported to be available only in Asia but has since expanded to regions like the United States and Canada, with the Galaxy A series also supporting the search circle mode.

The rollout of the Circle to Search service across various devices reflects Google's commitment to enhancing user experience through innovative features. By enabling quick and easy sharing of screenshots without needing to save them first, users can streamline their interactions and communications more efficiently.

This update reflects Google's ongoing efforts to integrate advanced functionality into everyday tools, making technology more accessible and user-friendly for everyone.
