The Australian Transport Safety Bureau begins investigation into seaplane crash.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau investigators arrived at Rottnest Island today, Wednesday, to begin an investigation into a fatal seaplane crash that occurred yesterday, Tuesday, which authorities confirmed resulted in the deaths of three people.

The West Australian newspaper reported that the officers assigned to investigate the incident expressed their readiness to recover the wreckage from the seabed, which may hold crucial evidence to help understand the causes of the accident.

At the same time, the pilot who lost his life in the incident has been identified as James Wong, a 34-year-old who was one of the three individuals whose bodies were recovered late Tuesday evening.

A seaplane is a type of aircraft designed to take off and land on water instead of on ground runways.
